We’re excited to share some news with you: A brand-new Felgo SDK update is just around the corner! 🎉

Felgo 4.3.0 will be released within the next two weeks and comes with some major improvements and important changes that you should be aware of.

What’s New in Felgo 4.3.0

The upcoming release brings significant updates and sets the foundation for the future of Felgo app and game development:

  • Qt 6.8.3 Support
Felgo 4.3.0 switches to the latest Qt 6.8.3, enabling access to new Qt modules, features, and performance improvements.
One of the biggest changes: With Qt 6.8, we introduce a new multimedia backend based on FFMPEG, offering better media handling across platforms.

  • Android Target SDK 35
With Felgo 4.3.0, you can meet the latest Google Play requirements. Apps now target SDK Level 35, which becomes mandatory starting September 1st.

  • Bug Fixes & Improvements
As always, this update comes with a variety of fixes and improvements to make development smoother.

Cloud Builds Update – Ahead of Felgo 4.3.0

Before the SDK release, we’ll also update Felgo Cloud Builds to comply with Google Play’s new requirements. This update will roll out with Felgo 4.2.0, so you can already submit Play Store updates without waiting for 4.3.0.

⚠️ Important: With this update, Felgo Cloud Builds will no longer support Felgo 3 / Qt 5.15.

This change aligns with the upcoming Android Target SDK 35 requirement, which takes effect next week.

What This Means for Felgo 3 Users

We’ve worked hard to keep Felgo 3 and Qt 5.15 compatible with app store requirements for as long as possible. However, Android SDK 35 introduces deep challenges for patching the Qt tooling needed for Play Store distribution.

That’s why support for Felgo 3 in Cloud Builds will end with this update.

👉 We strongly encourage you to migrate to Felgo 4 as soon as possible.

Next Steps

Depending on your timeline, you have two options:

  • Release an update now with Felgo 4.2.0 and the updated Cloud Builds.

  • Or wait for Felgo 4.3.0 in the next two weeks to benefit from Qt 6.8.3 and the latest improvements.

Summary

  • Felgo 4.3.0 (with Qt 6.8.3, Android SDK 35, bug fixes, and improvements) is coming within the next two weeks.

  • Felgo Cloud Builds will be updated earlier with Felgo 4.2.0 to meet Google Play’s September 1st deadline.

  • Felgo 3 support in Cloud Builds ends, due to Android SDK 35 requirements. Migration to Felgo 4 is recommended.

We’re looking forward to sharing Felgo 4.3.0 with you very soon. 🚀

Stay tuned, and don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you need help with migration or planning your next release.
